A New Era In Climate Communications

I was the lead researcher of “A New Era In Climate Communications”, a groundbreaking White Paper synthesising the latest climate communications research, making it publicly accessible through the Digital Knowledge Hub. The paper covers a wide range of topics, and features over 60 expert contributions from around the world.

I am a spokesperson for the #StopRosebank campaign coalition against the biggest undeveloped oil field in the North Sea. As part of this, I have organised protests, co-coordinated our spokesperson group, coordinated a letter from Members of the European Parliament to the Prime Minister, created and edited video content, and spoken at panel events, schools and universities.

HERO UK Climate Justice Circle

I’m a former co-leader of the HERO UK Climate Justice Circle and have now shifted into an advisory role. HERO is the first subscription-based app which allows climate-concerned people to directly support activists and provide them with a basic income. As part of this, we recently filmed a “Day in the life” mini-documentary showing the human side of activism.

Building climate literacy on social media with Earthly Education

I run three educational series on my Instagram platform - “Positive Climate News” highlighting promising development in policy, business and education; “Our Climate Minds” synthesising climate psychology research into accessible content; as well as a greenwashing series exposing polluting industry’s misleading communication tactics.

Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty

I’m a treaty champion for the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation campaign, which advocates for a rapid, just and global exit from coal, oil and gas.

Climate action peer mentoring with EGIN Cymru

I am part of EGIN Cymru’s peer mentor network, helping community-led groups in Wales (particularly those from under-represented groups) take their first steps towards climate action. Groups can apply for funding to receive peer mentor support through the platform. I’m available for support with climate communications, behaviour change, healthy group dynamics, youth engagement, and digital strategy.

Past projects

Research on effective climate communication with Imperial College and Greener & Cleaner

I researched effective ways of communicating climate and sustainability issues to maximise engagement with low-carbon community initiatives with researchers at Imperial College in a groundbreaking project funded by BEIS Net Zero teams. Our research aimed to inform Greener & Cleaner Bromley’s community hub strategy and helped develop a blueprint for community sustainability hub across the country. As part of this, I have conducted interviews with sustainability hubs across the country and delivered presentations about our research.

Research paper: Not about us without us - the feelings and hopes of climate-concerned young people around the world

I co-authored my first peer-reviewed research paperon climate and mental health with the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London, which has now been published in the International Review of Psychiatry.

It was written by 23 climate-concerned young people around the world, outlining how the climate crisis and political inaction affect mental wellbeing, and how society can deal with these concerns in a more functional and supportive way.
